I’ve been on Locals for over a year now, and while it was already great starting out, the upgrades and real improvements have been regular and measurable. I have been only pleased for making the decision to get in early and to be enjoying such a thriving community now on what has to be the best platform for an online community that exists. I will say that early on there was a small learning curve. It took a few weeks for me to fully understand the structure and design. Folks, this is true with anything. I went through the same period of having to figure out, and get familiar with, Facebook twelve years ago or however long ago it was, and so did you. If you are still hosting your work on Facebook groups, you’re on a sinking dinosaur ship. Now’s the time to get on the Locals platform, which is a million times superior in every way, because if you don’t, in the not-too-distant future, you’re going to realize you’ve been left way behind and you’ll never correct that mistake.

the app truly is going to change the way people think about getting to know new people for the foreseeable future. with everything covid brought to the world, one thing it did bring was a new sense of people wanting and craving interaction with each other. humans are social creatures by nature and the ability to interact with new people while supporting charitable causes is honestly a great idea. i have been using the app since 2021, so right when the pandemic/lockdown was ending for the most part, and it has been a splendid opportunity to not only make meaningful connections with people outside of a computer screen, but has also allowed me to figure out what i care about most in life and how to apply that to things i do going forward. great app, can’t see what rolls out in the future!

I love the idea but the UI is absolute trash. When I try to search for an activity by name, sometimes it doesn'tshow up. The only way to find it is by looking at other users accounts to see what activities they're involved in. It seems there is also a limit to the number of connection requests you can make in a day with the free version but they don't explain this anywhere. Why would you not have a section to explain the limitations of a free account??? UI needs serious work among other things.

Joined for better Batchelor, works well with reading and watching videos, has been working well since I joined and I like that the videos will keep playing even when you lock the screen so I can listen while I go into town with my headphones on

Imagine my disappointment, $3.99 for an App that reviews less than half of Seattle. If it’s South of I-90, there’s virtually no reviews. Undoubtedly the Northern half is the easy pickings for reviewers, but what about the rest of the city? There’s all sorts of great & quirky places around Seatac, Georgetown and Black Diamond, to name a few. Nearby small towns like Enumclaw-a mini Telluride- go completely ignored. It’s lazy reporting, and it’s dishonest to charge for an App that is only focused on one small part of the city. There’s a lot more to Seattle than what’s in Spotted By.
