You don't need or None at all. dict.get returns None by default when it can't find the provided key in the dictionary.
It's a good idea to consult the documentation in these cases:
get(key[, default])
Return the value for key if key is in the dictionary, else default. If default is not given, it defaults to None, so that this method never raises a KeyError.
