You don't need or None at all. dict.get returns None by default when it can't find the provided key in the dictionary.

It's a good idea to consult the documentation in these cases:

    get(key[, default])

Return the value for key if key is in the dictionary, else default. If default is not given, it defaults to None, so that this method never raises a KeyError.

How to retrieve a value from a dictionary in Python? The dict.get () method is used in Python to retrieve a value from a dictionary. dict.get () returns None by default if the key you specify cannot be found. With this method, you can specify a second parameter that will return a custom default value if a key is not found. You can also use the dict [key] syntax to retrieve a value from a dictionary.
How to see if a key exists in a Python dictionary? The .get() method is a great and safe way to see if a key exists in a Python dictionary. Now, let’s learn to see whether or not a given value exists in a Python dictionary. Similar to the Python dictionary .keys() method, dictionaries have a corresponding .values() method, which returns a list-like object for all the values in a dictionary.
Why does Python return an empty Dict if no key is present?Just returns an empty Python dict () if any key is not present. Output: Time complexity: O (1) because it uses the get () method of dictionaries which has a constant time complexity for average and worst cases. Auxiliary space: O (1) because it uses a constant amount of additional memory to store the dictionary and the string values.
What are the methods of dict class in Python?Python dict class has many methods. Let’s look into some of the important methods of dict class. This method returns an object that contains the values from the dictionary. The type of returned object is ‘dict_values’ and we can iterate over it to perform some operations on the dictionary values.
